EMPRETEC FARMERS TRAINING

The Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GiEPA) in collaboration with the Inclusive Growth Promotion Institutional Support Project (IGPISP) concluded a six days (6) training for cooperative farmers which comprises executive members of SOFANYAMA Market Federation, Women President of Community Gardens and individual gardeners. The training was facilitated by Cooperative Development of the Gambia and GiEPA from the 12th - 17th of February 2024 at the Jarra Soma Mini-Stadium.

The training is explicitly designed for farmers and aims to address the gaps in Cooperative Development, Fostering Innovation, Business Acumen, and Sustainability in agricultural practices. 

The participants were able to learn the requisite knowledge to form a horticulture farmers’ cooperatives, develop their entrepreneurial mindset, use of marketing tools, leadership and governance, and basic record keeping.
